Ontario man wanted for sexual assault arrested in Kelowna

A 36-year-old Ontario man was arrested in Kelowna last week and sent back east to face a sexual assault charge.

Colin Michael Bayley was arrested and sent back to Ontario on April 5, according to a press release from police.

The effort was a collaboration between the BC RCMP Fugitive Return Program, Niagara Police Service Human Trafficking Unit, the Niagara Crown Attorney’s Office and the Ontario Provincial Human Trafficking Prosecution Team.

Authorities had to get the Ontario arrest warrant extended to B.C. so Bayley could be returned for prosecution.

Bayley was escorted across the country by the BC Sheriff Service.
