Wendy’s DreamLift Day surpasses last year’s total

For those who waited patiently throughout the Interior in Wendy's lineups on Wednesday – it paid off.

Not only did it amount to a meal, it contributed to the $115,027.86 raised for the annual Wendy's DreamLift Day in support of the Sunshine Foundation that grants wishes to children with physical disabilities or life threatening illnesses.

Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Vernon, West Kelowna, Kelowna and Penticton Wendy's restaurants contributed sales profits as well as employee wages to send children to Disneyland December, 2013.

Community volunteers joined the cause to account for an influx of people.

This year's total surpassed last year's total of $114,276.35.

The first Wendy's Dreamliftt Day in 1995 raised just over $10,000. Last year, the event raised $114,276.35. Over $1 million has been raised since the event's inception.
