WorkSafeBC involved after accident on Okanagan set of movie starring Ron Perlman

At least one crew member was struck by a truck during the shooting of a Ron Perlman movie during filming on Okanagan Indian Band land last week.

WorkSafeBC confirmed that an incident took place on Nov. 29 and a prevention officer attended the site. The agency said it was unable to discuss details of the incident as the employer was conducting an investigation.

According to TMZ, Hellboy star Ron Perlman was on location at the time of the incident which the celebrity focussed news site describes as "sounding like it could have been a lot worse."

Perlman has been in the Okanagan shooting The Last Victim since filming began Nov. 4, and the Golden Globe winner was apparently shaken by the accident.

TMZ reported the truck driver mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, accelerating past where it was supposed to stop, causing the crew to scramble for safety. At least one person was struck by the truck and one person suffered a minor foot injury. The website says nobody was transported to hospital.

The cast and crew have been filming the thriller The Last Victim in various locations around the Okanagan throughout November.

Perlman plays a small town sheriff trying to piece together the events of a violent night in the New Mexico wilderness. On Twitter, the star described the movie as a "low budget independent film."
