Seasonal parking a pain at YLW

KELOWNA – Parking stalls at Kelowna Airport will be harder than ever to come by this Christmas.

With more than 100,000 passengers and guests expected between Dec. 19 and Jan. 5, YLW will see all 2,600 parking stalls regularly occupied. More than 6,200 passengers are expected each day, making parking a competitive, and often stressful, endeavor.

YLW spokesperson Jenelle Hynes says that the busiest travel days will be Dec. 22, 29 and Jan. 5 and encourages passengers passing through on those days to plan ahead.

She recommends passengers arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes ahead of time for domestic flights and two hours ahead for international.

Those parking at YLW are encouraged to follow signage and parking lot staff directions. Alternatively, Hynes recommends travelers get rides from friends or family members, taxis and limousine services, airport shuttle services, or Kelowna Transit.

Holiday travel tips can be found on the airport's official site,
