Homicide unit investigating after body found in burned SUV in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Homicide detectives have been handed the case after police say a body was discovered in a burnt-out SUV in Abbotsford, B.C.

Firefighters responded just after 10:30 p.m. Friday to a report of a vehicle on fire on Bates Road.

Police say the vehicle was fully engulfed when the fire crew arrived.

They say the body was located after the flames were doused.

Police say the incident is being treated as suspicious, however, no further details have been released.
