Kelowna basement fire doused

No one was home when the Kelowna Fire Department came to knock down a small basement suite fire.

Dennis Miller, platoon captain, said three engines, a command unit, rescue truck and 15 firefighters were dispatched to the scene shortly after 9:45 p.m. Both the RCMP and BC Ambulance Service assisted on scene.

The fire crews went on the offensive and quickly extinguished the fire, Miller said. The cause of the fire is unknown and an investigation is underway.
