London police arrest man suspected of supporting Islamic State group

LONDON – Police have arrested a 32 year-old man in east London on suspicion of being a member or supporter of the Islamic State group.

Police said in a statement Saturday that the man was allegedly collecting information useful to someone preparing acts of terror and for encouraging terrorism. He was being questioned at a police station in south London.

The Islamic State group was banned in Britain last year.
