UPDATE: Kamloops police investigate homicide after woman killed in apartment

KAMLOOPS – RCMP officers have a man in custody after finding a dead woman in an apartment on the North Shore's Cherry Avenue around 2 p.m. today, Dec. 30.

But after reporting that a suspect was "arrested for murder," RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Cheryl Bush now says he has "been taken into custody in relation to the investigation."

Investigators believe the 41-year-old male had an association with the victim and he is "known to police."

The investigation, in its early stages, remains ongoing.

Emergency services crews were called to that area at that time for a report of a stabbing. Police have not confirmed the cause of death in the homicide investigation.

  1. domestic violence up 200%, in last ten years; a result of the wonderful society government created by legislating a police/taxed state that creates pressure on families and individuals so much that it drives them to extremes…suicides up 200%, shooting cops up 200%…this is what happens when people are put under extreme stress and duress! yet government will respond with even more unconstitutional legislation removing even more liberties and shifting the tax burden even more on the backs of ordinary people.

  2. this is so sad and the boys and girls club is just down the road I hope they up the patrol on police in area, as this neighborhood has gotten real bad, they need to up patrol as there is always different issues with teens and drunks in area.
