Tracks in the snow lead RCMP to four suspected thieves
NARAMATA – Four men are in custody following an investigation into a string of Penticton area break-ins Monday.
Mounties arrested the men December 29, believing they're responsible for several break-ins and thefts in Penticton and the surrounding area, according to a Penticton RCMP media release. Stolen vehicles were among property recovered subsequent to the arrests.
All four suspects were located in the Chute Lake area by tracking their path in the snow. RCMP say none were dressed for the elements and might have suffered the consequences of exposure if police hadn't been able to locate them in sub-zero conditions.
Two of the men are from Kelowna and two from Penticton. They face multiple potential charges of break and enter and theft. All four are known to police and are in custody pending a bail hearing.
