Man who failed to show up at halfway house arrested on Vancouver Island: police

VANCOUVER – Police say a 37-year-old man wanted for failing to return to his halfway house has been arrested on Vancouver Island.

Police say Marcel Parent is a two-time federal offender who has served time for various offences including sexual assault, armed robbery and forcible confinement.

Parent breached his release conditions when he didn’t show up at a Vancouver halfway house by curfew on Sunday.

Constable Brian Montague of the Vancouver police says Parent who was the subject of a police news release earlier in the day has been picked up near Parksville.
