Caesars Windsor not affected by Chapter 11 filing by U.S. managing company

WINDSOR, Ont. – It’s business as usual at Caesars Windsor.

Caesars Entertainment Operating Company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Chicago hoping the court agrees to its plan to get out from under $18.4 billion in debt.

But a spokeswoman for Caesars Windsor says the proceedings do not affect the Windsor, Ont., location.

Jhoan Baluyot (joanne beh-LOU-yet) says the Ontario Lottery and Gaming owns the casino, but it is managed by Caesars.

Baluyot says customers will not see any changes in operations at the casino and employees won’t see any changes.

Caesars Entertainment Operating Company owns and operates most of Caesars’ 50 properties.
