B.C. man who fed bears Timbits fined

The man who posted pictures of himself feeding Timbits to bears along the Alaska Highway is getting a bear ban and a fine.

The man was charged last year with violating the B.C. Wildlife Act while travelling north and the B.C. Conservation Service said on Facebook yesterday, Aug. 27, that he was fined this week to $2,000 and ordered to stay away a minimum of 50 metres from bears for six months.

The B.C. Wildlife Act states a person must not intentionally feed or attempt to feed dangerous wildlife.
