Woman killed by tractor trailer in BC; police seek driver

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. – A 52-year-old female pedestrian is dead after being struck by a tractor trailer Wednesday evening in New Westminster, B.C.

Police say the driver did not remain at the scene, adding it is possible the driver may have been unaware of what happened.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene (on Brunette Avenue).

Police say she has been identified and next of kin has been notified but her name has not yet been released.

Police are seeking witnesses to the collision and encouraging any truck driver who may think they may have been involved to contact them immediately.
