TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (14,922.44, down 115.97 points):
Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Down $2.21, or 5.66 per cent, to $36.86 on 7.7 million shares.
Twin Butte Energy Ltd. (TSX:TBE). Oil and gas. Down 13 cents, or 9.49 per cent, to $1.24 on 6.5 million shares.
BlackPearl Resources Inc. (TSX:PXX). Oil and gas. Down 23 cents, or 14.37 per cent, to $1.37 on 5.3 million shares.
Legacy Oil + Gas Inc. (TSX:LEG). Oil and gas. Down 57 cents, or 15.36 per cent, to $3.14 on 4.6 million shares.
Spartan Energy Corp. (TSX:SPE). Oil and gas. Down 30 cents, or 10.17 per cent, to $2.65 on 4.4 million shares.
Air Canada. (TSX:AC). Airline. Up 94 cents, or 9.20 per cent, to $11.16 on 4.3 million shares.

Valener Inc. (TSX:VNR). Utilities. Down 17 cents, or 1.04 per cent, to $16.20 on 28,060 shares. The publicly traded affiliate of Gaz Metro, says it earned $36.7 million its 2014 financial year, helped by higher gas and electricity deliveries in Quebec and Vermont and a lower Canadian dollar. The company said profit for the financial year ended Sept. 30 compared with a profit of $37.1 million the previous year.
