Car rolls onto roof in Glenmore Road accident

LAKE COUNTRY – A car was flipped onto its roof and a driver was sent to hospital following a shocking rollover collision on Glenmore Road last night.

According to Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey, Lake Country received a call about a single-vehicle rollover collision on Glenmore Road near Shanks Road on July 19 at 12:37 a.m. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found a grey Mazda 3 flipped upside down with its airbags deployed.

The driver, a Vernon woman, was taken to hospital for medical treatment to non-life threatening injuries. The male passenger was unharmed.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident. The woman was asked to give a breath sample for a roadside screening device test, which she failed. She's prohibited from driving for 90 days.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to contact Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288.

Crews recently finished construction on Glenmore Road after two months of work. Several concerns were raised about the safety of its detour route during that time.
