RCMP helicopter spots marijuana grow-op during Harper visit in N.B.

AULAC, N.B. – Police in southeastern New Brunswick have dismantled an outdoor marijuana grow operation — thanks in part to this week’s visit to the area by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

When the prime minister visited Aulac on Wednesday, the RCMP had a helicopter in the air as part of the security measures.

Sgt. Rick Bernard says officers in the helicopter spotted the mature marijuana plants.

He says police cut down the eight plants the next day.
