Canadian snowboarder Mark McMorris back on podium in Aspen

ASPEN, Colo. – Canada’s Mark McMorris captured a bronze medal on Saturday at a World Cup snowboard slopestyle event.

The Regina native captured the world championship in big air at the same Aspen venue earlier this week.

Slopestyle world champion Marcus Kleveland of Norway took gold on Saturday, while 2018 Olympic gold medallist Redmond Gerrard of the U.S. was second.

Max Parrot of Bromont, Que., was fourth.

Anna Gasser of Austria won the women’s event.

Laurie Blouin of Stoneham, Que., was the top Canadian, finishing seventh. She also won the world championship in big air earlier this week.
