TORONTO – Canadian musician Jason Collett is set to appear on a popular children’s series produced in part by The Jim Henson Company.
On an Oct. 10 instalment of “Hi Opie!” called “Opie Rocks,” Collett will play the rocker dad of one of Opie’s classmates.
When Collett visits the classroom, five year-old Opie — a puppet custom-built by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop — will imagine himself as a rock star.
Collett is a Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter known for his solo career and for performing in various bands including Broken Social Scene.
The episode will air on TVO and City Saskatchewan.
“Hi Opie!” chronicles the adventures of Opie and his kindergarten classmates, who are played by real kids.
The series was developed in partnership with TVO and produced by marblemedia in association with The Jim Henson Company.
Recently the show launched an interactive kids’ website hosted by Opie called HiOpie.com.
