TORONTO – Travel issues have delayed the start of tonight’s pre-season game between the Maple Leafs and Red Wings.
Originally scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start with a puck drop of 7:38, the game is now expected to begin closer to 8 p.m. though the teams only said there would be a “short delay.”
Detroit’s bus reportedly got stuck in Toronto traffic on its way from the airport to Air Canada Centre.
Teams arrive in the game city the night before during the regular season and playoffs but travel day of during the pre-season.
