Hayes has two goals, assist to power Hamilton Bulldogs past Peterborough Petes 6-2

Avery Hayes had two goals and an assist to power the Hamilton Bulldogs past the Peterborough Petes 6-2 in OHL action Tuesday night.

Lucas Moore, Gavin White, Jan Mysak and Mason McTavish had the other goals for Hamilton (43-12-3-2), which tied a club record for most regular-season victories.

In other action, it was: Ottawa 67’s 4, Oshawa Generals 3 (SO); and Saginaw Spirit 2, Soo Greyhounds 1.

At Peterborough, Ont., Tucker Robertson had a goal and an assist for the Petes (24-32-5-0). Sam Alfano scored the other goal.

At Oshawa, Ont., Ranvir Gill-Shane and Tyler Boucher scored in the shootout to earn Ottawa (25-29-2-6) the victory. Alex Johnston, Matthew Mayich and Vinzenz Rohrer had the goals in regulation. Ty Tullio, Cooper Way and Brett Harrison replied for the Generals (27-28-1-5).

Spirit 2, Greyhounds 1

At Saginaw, Mich., Charlie Fink’s first career goal in the second period proved to be the winner for the Spirit (21-39-1-0). Mitchell Smith had the other while Andrew Oke stopped 18 shots. Rory Kerins replied for the Greyhounds (33-21-6-1)
