VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – State officials say the Virginia Beach nightclub where a man was fatally shot during an event hosted by rapper Young Jeezy has given up its liquor license.
Representatives of the Virginia Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control tell The Virginian-Pilot (http://tinyurl.com/jjlm6nt ) that Club Embassy surrendered its liquor license over the weekend. That means the club can’t sell alcohol and is effectively out of business. The club can apply for its license to be reinstated.
The shooting early Saturday morning was at least the fourth at Club Embassy over the past two years. Thirty-four-year-old Demetrius McCloud of Norfolk was killed. Police have not identified any suspects.
Young Jeezy is from Atlanta and a four-time Grammy nominee. His hit songs include “Soul Survivor.”
