ATLANTA – Oprah Winfrey has completed the first stop of an eight-city tour of “Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend,” rocking an Atlanta arena with inspirational talks and exercises on transforming one’s life.
Organizers said the two-day event, concluding Saturday, was designed to encourage and empower women. It featured appearances by authors Deepak Chopra and Elizabeth Gilbert, inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant and pastor Rob Bell.
Winfrey spoke about finding one’s life purpose and led exercises on living more fully. At times there were funny reflections on life while other soul-searching moments led to crying as many considered areas for change.
Organizers said in Auburn Hills, Michigan; Washington, D.C.; Newark, New Jersey; Houston; Miami; Seattle and finishing Nov. 15 in San Jose, California.
