Jim Parsons wins Emmy as best actor in comedy series

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Jim Parsons, the lovable geek on “The Big Bang Theory,” is the winner of his fourth Emmy Award for best actor in a comedy series.

Parsons previously won the Emmy in 2010, 2011 and 2013 for his role as Sheldon Cooper on the hit CBS sitcom. He also was nominated in 2009 and 2012.

His rivals in the best-actor category were Ricky Gervais, Matt LeBlanc, Don Cheadle, Louis C.K. and William H. Macy.
