Single-seat plane crashes in Hampton woods, pilot not hurt

HAMPTON, N.H. – The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash of a single-seat airplane in New Hampshire’s woods.
WMUR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2gpMdjb ) the bi-wing airplane crashed Sunday afternoon in Hampton. The 74-year-old pilot was able to exit the plane on his own and was released at the scene after being evaluated by rescue crews. WMUR-TV did not report the pilot’s name.
A resident reported the crash to authorities just after noon. The plane sustained minimal damage although it landed nose-down in a wooded area.
The plane is reportedly registered to a man living in Rye.
Hampton police say the aircraft reportedly came from Beverly, Massachusetts, and was heading to the Hampton Airfield when it went down.
