CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Authorities say a 17-year-old boy has been arrested in North Carolina on suspicion of stealing an iPad from a woman who listed it on a person-to-persons sales app.
The Charlotte Observer reports a letgo user responded to the woman’s listing on the app and they agreed to meet at Charlotte apartment complex Oct. 16. A search warrant says the woman arrived at the location and was approached by a teenager, who’s accused of pushing her, grabbing her iPad and fleeing.
The following day, she told authorities she’d found an ad offering an iPad similar to hers for sale on a similar app. She said the device had the teen’s photo as the screen saver.
The newspaper says police arrested a juvenile. It’s unclear what he has been charged with.
