ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry says it has lodged a strong protest with New Delhi over the latest ceasefire violation in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir that killed one Pakistani and wounded 12 others a day earlier.
In a statement, it said Pakistan summoned a senior Indian diplomat Thursday, demanding a probe into Wednesday’s firing by Indian troops along the Line of Control.
It said Pakistan asked India to “maintain peace and stability” in Kashmir, which is divided between Pakistan and India and is claimed by both.
The latest development came a day after Islamabad blamed India for initiating fire and said its forces also returned fire.
