Canada’s inaugural Self-Publishing Awards to be held this November

TORONTO – There’s a new book awards forum for self-published authors in Canada.

On Monday the Association for Art and Social Change, producer of INSPIRE! Toronto International Book Fair, announced the launch of the Creation of Stories: Canada’s Self-Publishing Awards.

Sponsored by indie-publishing platform Blurb Inc., the awards recognize achievement in writing, design and overall marketability of self-published books.

Three grand prizes of $3,000 each and one people’s choice award of $1,000 will be awarded to winning books in three categories: Books for an adult audience, books for young adult audiences and books for children.

Winners will also receive a Blurb marketing campaign for their book and a trip to INSPIRE!

Entries for the inaugural awards must have been published between July 1, 2013 and Sept. 1, 2014, using any self-publishing platform.

The prizes will be presented on Nov. 16 at INSPIRE!.
