KELOWNA – A Kelowna man will be stuck in a house with 13 other contestants as their antics are broadcast to the world next week.

Dane Rupert, 27, is one of 14 contestants on the latest season of Big Brother Canada.

The seventh season of the popular reality show will see people from across Canada compete for a grand prize of $100,000, $10,000 worth of groceries, a $25,000 home-furnishing makeover and a trip for two anywhere in the world.

Rupert, a former hockey player, is a civil technician who is described in his bio on the Big Brother Canada website as a local Kelowna celebrity with a goofy personality who believes in going big to win big.

Rupert and the other competitors will star in the season opener on March 6 at 7 p.m. on Global.
