TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (11,757.88 down 8.48points):
Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Down a penny, or 0.28 per cent, at $3.61 on 10,594,404 shares. The industrial subgroup dropped 0.32 per cent.
Nexen Inc. (TSX:NXY). Oil and gas. Down 37 cents, or 1.42 per cent, at $25.63 on 6,564,665 shares. The stock gave up some of its gains from last week when its shares jumped after China National Offshore Oil Co. made a US$15-billion offer for the Calgary company.
Zincore Metals Inc. (TSX:ZNC). Miner. Down half a cent, or 3.70 per cent, at 13 cents on 6,070,500 shares. The metals and mining sector was one of the biggest decliners, down 0.93 per cent.
Eastern Platinum Ltd. (TSX:ELR). Miner. Down a penny, or 4.65 per cent, at 20.5 cents on 5,163,601 shares.
Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM). Oil and gas. Up 13 cents, or 1.02 per cent, at $12.84 on 4,889,356 shares. The international oil and gas producer will be releasing its second-quarter results this week.
Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK). Miner. Down 20 cents, or 2.29 per cent, at $8.52 on 4,618,840 shares.
TSX Venture Exchange (1,184.36 down 6.28 points):
GoldQuest Mining Corp. (TSXV:GQC). Mineral explorer. Up 36 cents, or 35.64 per cent, at $1.37 on 4,862,952 shares.
Unigold Inc. (TSXV:UGD). Mineral explorer. Up three cents, or 7.89 per cent, at 41 cents on 4,036,410 shares.
Companies reporting major news:
Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:CUF.UN). Real estate. Down 28 cents, or 1.10 per cent, at $25.17 on 226,065 shares. The Quebec-based company bought a portfolio of properties in Quebec and Ottawa from GE Capital Real Estate for $697 million.
TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP). Pipelines and energy. Up 84 cents, or 1.87 per cent, at $45.69 on 3,581,275 shares. The Calgary-based company and ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) are conducting a public process to determine the level of customer interest in a potential new pipeline — the Alaska Pipeline Project.
