Iron Maiden singer hints on Twitter that he’s flying DC-3 for reality series

EDMONTON – The singer for legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden has hinted that he’s going to be in an upcoming episode of the reality TV show, “Ice Pilots NWT.”

Bruce Dickinson, who holds a commercial pilot’s licence, tweeted a picture of himself on Saturday afternoon at the controls of an aircraft along with a message that said, “There’s a rumour I’m flying a DC-3 with an #IcePilots TV crew over my shoulder.”

The tweet was sent from his @cardiffaviation account, which is the name of his aircraft service company in the UK.

Ice Pilots is a reality TV show about Buffalo Airways, a passenger and cargo airline that operates in Canada’s North.

It airs in Canada on History Television, and has aired internationally on National Geographic Channel.

A tweet on Wednesday from the same account stated, “Ice Pilots? Couldn’t possibly comment.”

Dickinson is currently on tour with Iron Maiden in Western Canada, but there was a break between Friday’s performance in Edmonton and their next show in Vancouver on Sunday.

Calls to Buffalo Airways were not returned on Saturday afternoon. No one with Omni Films, which produces “Ice Pilots NWT” could be reached for comment.

However, Buffalo’s general manager Mikey McBryan, who appears in the TV show and is the son of the airline’s founder, Joe McBryan, tweeted a picture of himself Friday which he said was taken backstage at the Iron Maiden show in Edmonton.
