Man dead after being hit by transit bus in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside

Vancouver police say a 63-year old city man is dead after being hit by a transit bus in the Downtown Eastside.

They say the accident happened just before 5 p.m. Friday moments after the bus pulled away from a stop on West Hastings Street.

The investigation of Vancouver's third pedestrian fatality of 2019 is continuing, however, police say speed does not appear to have been a factor in the collision.

No other information was immediately released.
