UPDATE: Water back on for 80 Vernon homes

VERNON – The water is back on for around 80 homes in Vernon now that a water main break has been repaired.

The City of Vernon says in a media release issued late today, Feb. 4, the broken water main has been repaired.

The 12-inch water main broke yesterday afternoon, Feb. 3, near 6858 Herry Rd. Residents on Rimer Road, Herry Road, Holbrook Road, including Sanford Road and Carlton Road were affected by the broken water main.

The broken water main was not caused by the cold weather but by aging infrastructure, the City says.
