Looking for forever home; Kamloops SPCA pet of the week

KAMLOOPS — These budgies need to be adopted together as they are bonded.

Sage came in to the Kamloops SPCA with his friend Ochre and are now looking for their forever home together, a media release says.

Sage is a happy camper and will tell you so with all of his chirps. He shows how much he cares for his friend Ochre as they love to cuddle all the time. Sage is a more forthcoming than his friend, but is still learning of what he really thinks about people.

When Ochre came into the sheltere's care she had early presentation of sinusitis, causing her to sneeze a great deal. After being put on antibiotics and changing her diet, she and her best friend are ready to go home.

To keep Ochre healthy, she will need a diet high in vitamin A which include orange and dark green vegetables such as carrots, sweet potato, spinach, parsley, kale, red peppers. Other options are fish liver oil, dried milk, cheese, egg yolk.

Ochre is quite vocal when she's happy and she will tell you why. She is also quite snuggly with her buddy, Sage. Ochre is quite shy and is not sure what to think of people, so at this point of time she is not quite handleable.

She would do best in a bird-savvy home to make sure her needs are met and can live harmoniously with you and her best friend Sage.

For more information about Sage and Ochre contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA. Their animal ID numbers are 477562 and 477563.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
