Indian gas pipeline explosion kills 13 people

HYDERABAD, India – An Indian official says a gas pipeline explosion has killed 13 people in Andhra Pradesh state.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister N. Chinna Rajappa said the blast hit a pipeline of the state-owned Gas Authority of India Limited at 5:30 a.m. Friday.

The pipeline runs through a small village.

According to local officials, the blast caused a massive fire and surrounding areas were evacuated.
