ASHEVILLE, N.C. – A North Carolina man charged with plotting an Islamic State-inspired attack has pleaded not guilty.
Justin Nojan Sullivan was arraigned Wednesday in federal court on charges including attempting to provide material support to terrorists.
Authorities say they arrested him last year before he had the chance to carry out a shooting attack on a concert or club.
Court documents say trial is scheduled in October for the 20-year-old suspect from Morganton.
The Citizen-Times in Asheville reports (http://goo.gl/78RYm3 ) that Sullivan’s attorney entered the not guilty plea at the brief hearing and said he wants a jury trial. He was not present.
