Big White season opening delayed

KELOWNA – Not enough snow at Big White Ski Resort has forced management to postpone their season opening by at least a couple of days.

The resort had planned to open some of their runs on Thursday, November 27 but announced on their Facebook page Monday that skiers and snowboarders will have to wait until Saturday, November 29 at the earliest.

“We’ve been snow-dancing and praying to the snow gods, but unfortunately we don't yet have enough snow to provide enough cover for Thursday,” the update says.

On Monday the popular ski hill posted that there had been 0 cm of snow in the previous 24 hours and listed their base at only 8 cm.

Big White will confirm the tentative opening date Thursday.
