West Kelowna woman facing potential charges after alleged assault

WEST KELOWNA – A woman is facing potential charges after allegedly assaulting and injuring a man with a weapon at a West Kelowna home yesterday.

Police say it all started around 7:40 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 28, when they responded to reports of an assault in progress at a home in the 3700 block of West Bay Road.

Officers arrested a woman without incident outside the residence, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release a bleeding 33-year-old man was found inside the home and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

O'Donaghey says the incident was isolated, the suspect and victim are known to each other and there is no threat to the public.

A 30-year-old West Kelowna woman is expected to appear in Kelowna court today, Oct. 29, and is facing potential assault related criminal charges, he says.
