Not-so-bright Osoyoos 7-11 robber nabbed

OSOYOOS – The odds of arresting a suspect in a hold-up early Friday morning at the Osoyoos 7-11 went up dramatically when the robber agreed to show his face to the clerk.

RCMP say a man walked into the store at about 3:47 a.m. with his face hidden by a scarf and demanded money from the clerks.

The employees asked the suspect to take of his scarf, which he did.

He then went behind the counter, grabbed the money tray from the till and took off on foot with about $70 in cash, according to police.

The suspect didn’t have a weapon and no one was hurt.

RCMP say the store’s security camera recorded the whole robbery. It showed a man in his early 20s wearing a hat and black jacked with a red “Lucky 13” red devil logo on the back.

A suspect was arrested a few hours later.

A 23-year-old Osoyoos man is in jail waiting for a court appearance on Monday.
