Police raid impacts Okanagan drug trafficking ring

LAKE COUNTRY – RCMP raided a home in Lake Country last week seizing a variety of drugs including a heroin-fentanyl mix packaged for sale.

Police executed a search warrant at a condominium complex in the 3100 block of Beaver Lake Road in Lake Country on Friday, June 22, and made a “sizeable” drug seizure, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP say officers found 82 small packages of heroin-fentanyl mix, crack cocaine and methamphetamine, along with cash. Police estimate the drugs are worth $30,000.

RCMP don’t say if anyone was home during the raid or if any arrests were made.

The raid came after the arrest of a 34-year-old woman in Vernon who was in possession of the heroin-fentanyl mix, cocaine and lots of cash, police say. She has been released from custody but will appear in court at a later date on trafficking charges.

"This investigation targeted persons controlling the drug supply above the street level dealer and will have a significant impact on the group's operations in our community,” Sgt. David Evans with the Vernon RCMP targeted police unit says in the release.
