WILD WEDNESDAY: Fawning season in Interior means aggressive deer

It's fawning season again. Every year from May to mid-June female deer can become more aggressive as they protect their young.

In this episode of WildSafe B.C's Wild Wednesday, the different species of deer in British Columbia are shown.

WildSafe B.C reminds people and pet owners to avoid deer when possible and keep animals on short leashes during this season.

If you come across a fawn that appears to be abandoned, WildSafe B.C. says to leave it where it is, as the mothers don't usually wander too far.

If the fawn is found in the same location after 24 hours, people are asked to call the Conservation Officer Service at 1-877-952-7277.
