Who’s that guy: old photo in Saskatchewan time capsule leads to modern mystery

REGINA – A peek into the past has sparked a modern mystery in Saskatchewan.

Provincial officials are trying to identify a man whose photograph was found in a time capsule that was encased in the wall of the Saskatchewan legislature.

The capsule was opened last December to mark the building’s 100th anniversary.

Kevin Doherty, minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission, says there’s no name on the photo and it isn’t on the list of the time capsule’s contents.

Doherty says the man could be Franklin Joseph Robinson, a bureaucrat with the government at the time.

But Doherty says no one is certain and he hopes someone can come forward to identify the man and explain how his photo ended up in the time capsule.
