Added flights from Kelowna will let you go to Victoria and back on the same day

KELOWNA – Business travelers to Vancouver Island will have a few more options this fall.

Starting Sept. 4, Pacific Coastal Airlines will add a daily morning flight from Kelowna International Airport to YYJ, allowing travelers to spend a day on the island and return that night.

The airline will also add a late evening departure from Kelowna to Victoria on Fridays for weekend getaways.

Flights from Kelowna to Cranbrook will also increase from six days a week to seven.

Kelowna International Airport director Sam Samaddar says roughly 1.9 million passengers passed through Kelowna last year, and he expects that number will continue to rise.

Pacific Coastal Airlines’ Customer Service Manager Jenelle Hynes says the flights were added because of consistent growth in the Okanagan region.

“Our fall schedule change is completely focused towards the Kelowna traveler,” she says. “With the early morning flights and up to four flights a day to Victoria on Friday, it really gives our passengers the opportunity to maximize their stay on the Island or connect to the rest of B.C.

Passengers can make reservations on the Pacific Coastal website.
