Sudden death at Kamloops hotel not believed to be suspicious: RCMP
KAMLOOPS – Police don’t believe a sudden death at the Northbridge Hotel last night was suspicious, but they are working to rule out that possibility.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police were contacted at approximately 6 p.m. yesterday, April 30, by B.C. Emergency Health Services who had attended a hotel room in the units above The Duchess on Tranquille.
Shelkie says emergency services were there to treat a man and contacted police once they realized he was not going to live, which is protocol for a sudden death situation.
It’s not clear who called to request medical attention.
Shelkie says when there are no witnesses to a sudden death, police work to determine a timeline for the deceased person in the time leading up to their death. Although police don’t believe this death is suspicious, they are working to rule that out.
The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating.
