Kamloops RCMP looking for missing woman after her vehicle was found abandoned

KAMLOOPS – Police are asking for the public’s help in located a missing 62-year-old woman.

Earlier today, Feb. 7, Kamloops RCMP were informed of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked on Lafarge Bridge on East Shuswap Road for a few days. It's a popular spot for cross country skiiers.

The vehicle belongs to Thelma Vaughan, according to an RCMP press release.

Family and friends have not heard from her in the past few days, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in the release.

“It is hoped that Thelma’s vehicle simply wouldn’t start and she made her way back into town.  Until she is located, the RCMP will be conducting a search of the area with the assistance of (the RCMP helicopter),” Shelkie says.

Vaughan is described as Caucasian with grey hair. She is 5’2” and approximately 130 lbs.
