Sun Peaks to celebrate anniversary of Nancy Greene Raine’s Olympic victory

SUN PEAKS – There will be a celebration at Sun Peaks Resort for one of Canada’s greatest Winter Olympic athletes next week.
The event of Feb. 15 will be held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Nancy Green Raine's 1968 Olympic gold medal win, according to a media release from the resort.
“It’s hard to believe that it has been 50 years since the Grenoble Olympics, an event that certainly changed my life,” Greene Raine says in a press release. “I’m really excited to celebrate my golden anniversary with everyone in Sun Peaks.”
At 11:30 a.m. Feb. 15, will give people an opportunity to ski with the Olympic Champion. At 12:00 p.m. there will be a flag parade and presentation at the base of the village platter. In the evening, there will be a public reception and Olympic celebration at Masa’s Bar and Grill from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
