Women’s March returning to the streets of downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – The Kamloops Women's March is returning for the second year in a row.

The march will begin at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Sandman Centre on Saturday Jan. 20, according to a media release.

The event will begin with several local speakers, who will be announced shortly, followed by a march through the streets of downtown Kamloops.

Organizers say the purpose of the Women’s March is to acknowledge the work that still needs to be done in the Kamloops community and elsewhere to create a fully inclusive and equal society.

The event is open to all sexes, races, sexual orientations and abilities, the release say, as well, it will be wheelchair accessible.

The 2017 Women’s March drew over 500 people who walked through the streets of Kamloops.

The Kamloops Women’s March is put on by volunteers who live in the community.
