Vernon RCMP investigating alleged theft at Best Buy

VERNON – Police in Vernon want to know if you recognize someone captured on video surveillance Monday during a theft.

Police said in a media release yesterday that two men entered Best Buy at 56200 24 St. on Dec. 18 and allegedly walked out the back door with speakers and a hub, valued at $1,400. RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett updated that release Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, saying that one of the men was identified and not considered to be involved in the theft. Police are still looking to identify the second person of interest in the photo.

In the original release, police said the suspect fled out the back door, into a vehicle and was not located by police.

If you have any information with respect to their identities contact Const. Dan Gow of the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leaving a tip online.

— This story was updated at 8 a.m. Dec. 20, 2017 to say police are now only looking for information on one person of interest.
