Join Kelowna General Hospital’s Walk of Memories

KELOWNA – Those who have experienced the loss of a family member or someone close to them are invited to participate in Kelowna General Hospital’s annual Walk of Memories.

On Sunday, June 5 at “The Dolphins” fountain in Kelowna’s Waterfront Park, individuals can join an interactive and ceremonial walk (about one kilometre), where participants can stop at four stations to reflect on the life of loved ones.

Participants can begin walking anytime between 2 and 2:45 p.m. The closing ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m. The route is family-friendly, wheelchair accessible, and volunteers will be available as walking partners.

Sometimes the busy pace of life doesn’t allow us to adequately reflect on the lives of loved ones we’ve lost or on our own personal healing. The Walk of Memories will help create space to do just that. Join others as they gather to walk in memory and celebration of the lives of their loved ones. Refreshments will be included; there is no cost for this event.

The Walk of Memories is organized by the KGH Spiritual Care Team, in partnership with the BC Cancer Agency, the Central Okanagan Hospice Palliative Care Program, and the KGH Foundation.
