B.C. Conservative Leader recounts close call with massive grizzly bear
KAMLOOPS – The leader of B.C.'s Conservative Party says his political opponents seem a lot less threatening after a recent encounter with a massive grizzly bear.
Dan Brooks, who also works as a hunting guide, says he was hunting moose with an American client south of Vanderhoof earlier this month when they came upon what he thought was a pile of dirt.
Brooks says behind the mound, roughly 20 metres away, was a bear that suddenly charged at him and his client.
Both men fired off a round each into the ground, and the animal turned around and ran off.
Brooks says he later realized the pile of dirt was a dead moose, and the bear was guarding its kill.
He says the frightful encounter lasted about five seconds.

Arleen Massey That comment makes you look really stupid, thats nature & as much as it sucks for the bottom guy on the food chain, the bear did not sneak up on him & hide 100 yards away & like a coward shoot him with a gun!! Thats their territory, not mans!
That bear wasn’t innocent…he killed that moose :- /
Oh ok, you sound like every other sheep in this world, its digusting that you & people like you think the human race is superior, just because they are cowards with guns!!
Well aren’t you a dumb f**k
Ahzz Zuz I don’t like seeing wild animals in harms way, because stupid humans go into their territory get attacked or just threatened & BANG shoot the innocent animal!!
Ahzz ZuzWell not really, you see at the grocery store i can’t shoot someone if they were a threat to me…&I don’t buy meat!!!
Don’t like hunting or guns. Don’t buy or do it. Don’t like being gay, don’t do it. Leave law abiding people alone.
Why do you keep going back to the grocery store, same reason.
Why don’t you people stay the hell out of their territory!
