Dog chased by coyotes reunited with Kelowna owner

KELOWNA – A dog that a north Glenmore woman rescued from a pack of coyote’s earlier this week has been reunited with her family.

Lorill Jenson was driving home around 10 p.m. Monday night when she noticed a “running for her life” down Snowsell Road.

She says the dog was “frantic” when she finally caught up to her.

“I could hear (coyotes) nearby as soon as I pulled over.”

Jenson says despite a couple escape attempts, she managed to keep the dog in her garage overnight and yesterday took her to Central Okanagan Regional District dog control. An employee at dog control confirmed that the owners have been in contact and have arranged to pick her up.

Jenson says the owners were new to Kelowna and that the dog had escaped their fenced yard around 8 p.m. that night.

“The important thing is that she’s home safe," Jenson says.
